Mopeds are back in style, this time with the "Millenial Generation."

I was supposed to have Good Friday off altogether. But responsible person that I am, I showed up for work just to turn in a quarterly update that I really had time to do earlier in the week. Plus I was curious to see how it would work if I skipped coffee/email/blogreading at home and just jumped in the shower and coffee'd at work. Bottom line: if I wake at 5:30, I can be at work at 6:45. The commute is definitely shorter.
My bosses said I needed psychiatric help when I told them the lack of an update might spoil my weekend. Be that as it may, I stayed only until 10:15 or so. What surprised me was how much I got done at work and with the rest of the day. On my way home, I stopped at the Post Office (never a line at the Downtown station!) and mailed off our taxes. I then proceeded to the American Waterworks place across the ditch and scored some 12" plastic culvert, which I sort of mated to the galvanized gate and buried. The 2 additional four foot sections are in Iris' bed. Then I got out the chainsaw and really went to work, cutting a major mostly-dead plum branch and three Tingley elms. Finally, I set a post in the vegetable garden for the Hopi Lima Beans to climb on.
I sat in one of the Adirondack chairs on the patio and was woken from a small snooze by the sound of Mr. Roudy calling.
Later, once it had cooled a bit, I replaced Sneeze's inner tube on with a Slime Tube before opening a Newkie. Roomie and I cooked and ate on the patio as the wind blew the last of the elm seeds off the trees. I would call the day a complete success.

I have been pathetically groggy the last couple of mornings thanks to the changeover to Daylight Savings Time. I do appreciate the longer evenings though.
