Idiocy

Unfortunately, one thing that is not different about Albuquerque is cell-phone use. Specifically, cell-phone use while driving. Or, in today's case, while sitting in one's car. Usually, I prefer that people pull over to talk on their cell. As we left the local Flying Star the other day, I was bothered by an idling Miata as I perused the clearance books at the bookstore. The Miata's fan would cycle on and off every ten seconds or so, implying either that the car was overheating or that the air conditioning was running. It was a beautiful morning, and this person had the top up and the engine running as she talked on her phone. And she was parked in a handicapped spot.

It could have been an emergency, a grave matter of life and death. But I doubt it entirely.
