Underblog Rides Again

F650.jpgWhen I last posted, I had committed to take on the hunt for a more appropriate mini-touring motorcycle. Roomie is ready for a ride to Jemez, and recently she has expressed concern that fall colors may be over before we know it.

For some time prior to Roomie's Conversion, I had looked at BMW F650's as an economical daily-rider / commute vehicle. I saw an ST (the street-going version) listed on Craigslist in Santa Fe, and I did a little diligence to see if it wasn't too underpowered to take little jaunts in the country with Roomie on back. Sufficiently encouraged from the internet forums, I decided that as an entry-level mountain cruiser the F650 would be fine. If Roomie decides she wants us to vacation on the bike together a larger bike will probably be called for.

We lucked out on the Santa Fe F650 on two counts: First, the color is beautiful, kind of a flat milky indigo; also, one of the few non-stock items on the bike is a Corbin king and queen (or Gunfighter and Lady) seat. Supposedly, it is much more comfortable than a stock seat. And we know that it is all about her pleasure.

Now, having changed the front tire for a new one (included in the price) all I need to do is take the bike in to get its fork seals replaced and we shall be good to go.

Anyone want a deal on a sweet 1990 Ducati 750 Sport?
