Joys of Vintage Iron

As Sherm has noted, Iris just barely made it back from Trinidad, Colorado. She did not get a sex-change operation, but an engine-change was contemplated for her. But the Blue Devil miracle cure appears to make the large white cloud of smoke go away (or perhaps heat it up so much that it stops smoking) once the engine reaches warmed-up temperature.

I will repeat the miracle cure, and this time follow the instructions more closely. Patience waning and tools lacking, I neglected to remove the thermostat from her when I added the contents of the Blue Devil bottle. I realize now that this may have prevented the stuff from getting where it needs to go. Sadly, if Iris does not take to this cure, she may be due for that surgery after all. Fortunately, we are surrounded by car repair places around here.

I think my dad said to stick a penny in the engine and if you can see Lincoln's head it's time to have the engine replaced.... or is that trick for the tires? I never remember....

So what's causing the smoke? I always thought that meant that your rings were going--or gone.

that's GRAY smoke, rt. we have WHITE smoke.
according to Dr. Blog -
GRAY = rings,
WHITE = coolant getting into exhaust,
BLACK = carburation
