No sooner do I post about my apparent victory in the comment spam war than do I start receiving comment spam again. Fortunately, zero spams got through the SpamLookup filter, and all spams have been forwarded to Jay Allen's Comment Spam Clearinghouse as well as my own personal "blacklist."
Comment spams are interesting because unlike regular email they do not seek to attract my attention nor the attention of my peeps (both of them). Instead, they aim to establish a higher Google search engine ranking by appearing on the indexable HTML pages that MT creates. Fortunately, my email client (Apple's Mail) does a pretty good job catching the email junk. However, I do have posts to my blog forwarded to my email account, so when I have a dozen new emails in my inbox, I am pretty sure of a comment spam attack.
